Why
settle for just driving
when you can cruise? Save on gas and avoid speeding
tickets

Recently heard in a Scion chat room: "The Scions having no cruise
control keeps nagging me."
So we at Allscion went a-hunting for an aftermarket
cruise control kit that would work for Scion owners. Turns out ROSTRA
makes one that works like OEM and is ideal for do-it-yourselfers.
ROSTRA
Cruise Control kits are made in the USA by the company that pioneered
cruise control technology.
You can now set your speed with a touch of your finger.
Once selected, your cruise control constantly measures changes in the
engine loading and vehicle speed.
You won't have to touch the pedal to slow down or
speed up.
Rostra Cruise Control helps you:
Increase comfort
and reduces fatigue
Prevents fuel
waste due to erratic speed
Avoid tickets
from unintended speeding
Easy installation! The
kit includes all parts and a Scion-specific set of instructions
(view the 2006
installation manual).
No vacuum required
Lost motion
built into the cable
Smaller module
Single unit
mounting
New connectors
with positive contact and lock
Clutch switch
is included for manual transmission
In-line fuses
are closer to module
VSS (Vehicle
Speed Sensor) wire already in harness
Additional
throttle hardware included in kit
Compatible
with neutral safety
Compatible
with distributorless ignition systems
Compatible
with direct fire ignition systems
(Here are some customers' additional
tips on installing Rostra cruise control.) Or you can call Rostra Tech Support at: 1-800-782-3379 for assistance.
You don't want to install it yourself?
This service is available only to customers who buy their cruise
control from Allscion. Call Rostra Tech Support at: 1-800-782-3379 for assistance.
Rostra is offering an installation service
for their Scion cruise controls. Installers are in all major cities
and a lot of smaller ones. The cost of installation covers about two
hours' labor -- around $150 - $250, depending on your location.
Of course, if you live in high-cost areas
like San Francisco or Manhattan you can expect to pay more. The name
of the installer nearest you will be provided upon request with each
order.

The unit works very smoothly and is a great addition to the Scion.

RE: Cruise Control Installation 7:45 AM 4/20/2007
Installed your cruise control for my '06 xB and it works great! The additional tips helped a lot but I'd like to add one....
"...remove the driver's seat. Its only five bolts and a wire connection and makes all the fishing, cutting wiring and connecting so much easier unless you are a double jointed gymnast!"

RE: Cruise Control Installation 8:33 PM 6/27/2008
Let me congratulate you on this fine product. All parts were first class and the installation was straight forward. However, I wanted to pass on several comments that might be helpful to others.
My 2006 Scion XA did not conform to the wiring instructions. In Step 8, Power Connection. The black connector had a Green wire on pin 5 and a Gray wire on pin 6. A little testing with a voltmeter confirmed that the gray wire on pin 6 was the correct one.
I recommend taking the lower steering column cover off at the start of the installation. It makes it much easier to see and reach the brake wiring connectors (Step 6) as well as working with the VSS and NSS wire routing (Step 9) and securing the harness.
The unit works very smoothly and is a great addition to the Scion.
Thanks and regards,
D. White
